Pink Tourmaline Slide

A very soft and understated elegance is achieved with this pendant slide as a band of 14kt gold gently wraps around an oval pink tourmaline and a cabachon genuine blue sapphire caps the bottom for a nice finishing touch.Gem quality tourmaline is mined chiefly in Brazil and Africa. Almost every color of tourmaline can be found in Brazil, especially in the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais and Bahia. The pink color of tourmalines from many fields is the result of a continued natural irradiation. During their growth, these tourmalines are by nature very pale. Their granitic environment exposes to them a natural gamma ray exposure due to radioactive decay causing the gradual formation of the pink to red color.
