Rhodolite Garnet

Finished trillion cut Rhodolite
One of my favorite gemstones is the Rhodolite Garnet. A rhodolite is a variety of pyrope which is a species within the garnet group. It possesses a rose-pink to red color. It is, as all garnets, great for jewelry as it is very durable. You maybe interested in knowing that it is one of the oldest know gems used in jewelry and has been found in prehistoric discoveries. Although most consider and refer to as a 'semi precious' gemstone, excellent color gems can fetch a significant price. Garnets in general can be found all around the world, including the U.S.
Historically the finest come from Tanzania and Sri Lanka.
